Acute illness care in George

Colds, flu, infections, fevers and the days you’re simply not yourself. Dr Annetjie van der Nest sees the whole family in George Central, with same-day appointments where available.

When you’re unwell

Seen properly, not patched through.

Winter on the Garden Route brings its annual round of coughs, colds and flu, and they have a way of working through a household one person at a time. Seasonal flu vaccinations are done in-rooms. Beyond flu season, acute visits cover infections (throat, ear, chest, bladder), fevers, stomach bugs, rashes and minor injuries.

An acute consultation is still an unhurried one. Dr van der Nest examines you properly, explains what she finds, and sets out a clear plan, including what should improve by when, and what to do if it doesn’t. Children, adults and the elderly are all seen at the same rooms, so one call can sort the whole household.

The practice is open Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00. For a life-threatening emergency, go directly to the nearest emergency department or call your emergency service.
